Zastraka, located in Mysuru’s Koorgalli Industrial Area, is a manufacturer of all grades of Grey Cast and S.G. Iron castings, focused on delivering quality parts—machined or unmachined—on time and at competitive prices. To streamline its operations and support its customer-focused goals, Zastraka implemented the Lekhapal ERP system, a pre-configured solution tailored for the Foundry industry. The ERP system includes standardized modules to minimize customization needs and ensure smooth operations from the start. Designed for fast-track deployment, the project followed a structured plan with week-wise task allocation and milestone tracking, achieving a successful Go Live within just three months.

The Challenge of the Project

  • Lack of Existing ERP System: As a newly established company, there are no legacy systems or standardized workflows, making it necessary to build processes from the ground up.
  • Manual Production Tracking : Production data is recorded manually in Excel, causing delays and inaccuracies in MIS reporting and overall process visibility.
  • Duplication in GST & Taxation Work : Absence of system integration leads to duplicated efforts in maintaining separate records for compliance and internal use, increasing workload and error risk.
  • Inefficient WIP & Subcontract Stock Management : Tracking of Work-in-Progress and subcontractor stock is unreliable, with end stock updates often delayed or inaccurate.
  • Language Barriers in Operations : With the workforce primarily speaking Tamil and Kannada, adopting English as the standard for system entries and communication is essential to ensure clarity and consistency.
